Five top tips when using a professional caterer.
Posted on October 5, 2017
Having a professional caterer at your next function whether it be private or corporate allows you to relax and enjoy the event too.Having been a caterer for 25 years I’ve put together my top 5 tips as a guide for you when using the services of a professional caterer.
1.Be clear in exactly what it is you want, have a budget as this will help the caterer with menu options and have definite times for the start and finish of food service.
2.Parties and events are always a little more fun and even more stylish if they are themed,so if you do have a theme in mind let your caterer know as food can easily be adapted to meet specific themes.
3.Know your guests well so that you can let your caterer know of any food allergies and if there are larger or smaller appetites to cater for. Also consider if children are going to be at the occasion and if you would like something a little special for them too.
4.On the night of the party provide as much fridge space as possible and if you think refrigeration will be limited let your caterer know so that they can organise eskys or if it’s a function of a larger scale a portable coldroom. Make sure your kitchen benches and sink area are clear so that everything runs efficiently and clean down at the end of the party is not disruptive to you and your guests.
5.Remember that your caterer wants you to have a great time. Let them know exactly what your favourite foods are and what your expectations are for the evening so that when the party starts you can hand over the reins , relax and enjoy yourself.
~With 25 years catering experience I’ve catered 100’s of functions and every one has been a success. The secret really is building a rapport with the client and ensuring excellent communication and organisation~
