~Dietary Requirements within Cafe Society~

At The Pantry HQ we are able to cater to a plethora of dietary requirements.In today’s cafe society it is paramount that chefs and business owners are responsible and aware of the many food related allergies and diet choices,yes choices that the general population live with. There are diets we choose to follow for one reason or another, for example I follow a Paleo Diet to control a pain/inflammation issue , others choose to be Vegetarian ,Vegan or High Protein eaters. Then there are the numerous actual physical conditions that people find themselves with such as intolerance to gluten, intolerance to dairy, nut allergies , garlic/onion allergies ,egg related allergies, the list is extensive and very real. I believe that the hospitality industry is a service industry and as such it is up to us make sure , just as we would a guest in our home, that customers are looked after and their dietary requirements met. It is important to be aware of your menu and of the stock at hand you carry, I pride myself as a chef on being accommodating to all dietary needs. More and more, as I speak with my customers I hear horror stories where special requests have been met with ridicule or a sense of nuisance in some cafes,this is unacceptable.Dining out should be a pleasurable and delicious experience for everyone with the variety of fresh produce available to us, the range of milks and milk alternatives, the range of exciting products like chia seed for example, and with creativity and imagination the ability to substitute menu items, at The Pantry HQ we will swap or substitute a menu item at no extra charge,rare I’m led to believe. I love food, I love people and therefore I love feeding people.
